I needed a sound of someone falling down some stairs, so i grabbed a pelican case (took the camera out of it of course) and dropped it down the stairs a few times while my mate was holding a zoom recorder at the bottom. At one point the case hit my friend in the leg, but don't worry, he is ok.

Recorded a guitar being plucked and slowed it down to 0. 1% speed. This creates the nice initial pluck sound. Then copied and resampled the copy and slowed down again by 0. 1% speed, this time preserving the original pitch. This created the ultra-long decay tail. Added eos reverb.

Recorded at hope st radio, a bar/restaurant/radio station at collingwood yards, during the tail end of a disorganising community dinner. In this recording, about 80 people are learning or playing mah jong while the restaurant kitchen closes service and the sound system is off. There are adults and a few small children in the room and too many djs (common problem here). It was recorded on a sony pcm-d50's internal stereo microphones at 120°, mounted to a tripod while everyone drank the last of the free natty wine. #natural #wine #salomons. This recording was taken in may 2021 on unceded wurundjeri land, which belongs to the woi wurrung people of the eastern kulin nations. I acknowledge their sovereignty and pay my respects to their elders and all first nations people.

This is a collection of whooshes that i created using melted sounds' whoosh reaktor patch, loaded with a collection of samples i recorded of a piece of sheet metal being rubbed with my hand. There are 35 different whooshes of fairly similar length in 01, and 29 varied whooshes in 02 which were hand-performed within the patch. Ps. If you like these, there is a second file with a wider variety of whooshes in a similar style here:. Http://www. Freesound. Org/people/framing_noise/sounds/256910/.

This is a recording of myself sleeping, beginning ~ 1:00 am local time (~ 3hrs after going to bed) on january 10th, 2020 (which i later discovered was a full moon). I was in the midst of experimenting with recording myself all night long out of curiosity, using a laptop placed near the head of my bed. This particular recording was the only anomalous one (the rest consisting mostly of just breathing or snoring with occasional sleep-talking). This ~2 hour recording has several interesting properties, which make it hard for me to believe that these sounds were actually going on while i was sleeping. On the other hand, i don't have a memory of editing this file if i did. Either way, i find it unsettling. I found the file in oct 2021 while organizing my samples. As far as i can remember, this is the original raw recording. On further inspection, i discovered that it has some additional peculiar properties that make it even harder to believe i could have made it without remembering doing so. The audio spans almost exactly 118min (7080s). There’s a frequency sweep with a cycle-length of 6480ms that repeats throughout the entire recording. Dividing the 118min by 6. 48min (60 cycles) results in 18 parts containing exactly 60 cycles and a remainder of 12 cycles. If you think you know the source of the strange sounds or if you've ever heard anything similar, please let me know in the comments or email me at storyofthelie@protonmail. Com. I collected the most interesting bits into this pack:https://freesound. Org/people/storyofthelie/packs/33653/. This is the sound of attempting to uncork a bottle of champagne with a saber, but, after a few practice hacks that hit the glass neck of the bottle, accidentally cutting off the bottle at the neck. Champagne explodes out and drips onto the ground, which is grassy and dry. Recorded with a boom microphone onto a p2 card via a panasonic hvx200 digital video camera.

Independence day fireworks display, recorded july 2004 in tewksbury, ma. The noise floor on this one is not so good, but there are a fair number of very nice explosions, pops, and whistles. The sound of quad cycles being ridden in the distance is also audible, particularly loudly starting around the 15:00 mark.
